INDEPENDENT PARALEGAL SERVICES

As Independent Paralegals, we can research any topic in the Law and then report our findings back to you, our Customer, whether through Writing something formal, something informal or just verbally.

While we do have some Specialties, we are capable of Researching and Preparing Documents in answer to questions arising from any area within the Subject Matter of the Law, without exception.

HOURLY RATES

The Premium Hourly Rate for Premium Cases: - concerning Administrative, Appellate, Criminal, Intellectual Property or Legal Malpractice Law is $115.00 per Hour, and the 11-for-10 deal applies fully, as soon as you Purchase and Use 10.0 full Hours, in aggregate, of either Premium or non-Premium Paralegal time, reducing the effective Hourly Rate for Premium Case Paralegal time to $104.55//Hr. (= $1150 // 11).

The Hourly Rate for non-Premium Case Paralegal time is $90.00 per Hour, and we give a 10% Time-Bonus, or 11 hours for the price of 10, once you Purchase and Use 10.0 full Hours, lowering the effective Hourly Rate for non-Premium Paralegal time to $81.82//Hr. (= $900 // 11).

TERMS, CONDITIONS AND DAILY-BILLING OF HOURLY-RATE LEGAL-SERVICES

All work is pre-Paid. --- No Work is performed prior to Payment.

Each Payment Purchases a defined amount of Paralegal Time, which amount of Time is equal to the amount Paid divided by the applicable Hourly-Rate.

All Hourly-Rate Work Assignments are just that, Hourly-Rate; and there is never any Conversion of Hourly-Rate Jobs to Fixed-Price Tasks. --- This is a firm, inalterable, policy.

The nature of Legal Services is that things can be Discovered during the Work Process which cannot be accounted for prior to the commencement of the Work.

For this reason, most of our Services -- specifically including all work in Contested Matters -- are priced in Hourly-Rates. --- Each payment represents a set amount of professional Paralegal time, priced at the quoted Hourly-Rate. --- There is no altering of Hourly-Rate projects into Fixed-Price assignments.

To try to induce Trust in our Customers, we do several things.

First, you can test us out. Many Customers will make a small payment, $450 is the most-common choice (= 5.0 Hours, at $90.00/Hr.), to see how it goes.

Since we are scrupulously honest and ethical, all of this is completely fine with us. --- Of course, it is understood that, once the Time is spent, the Work halts.

Another thing is that we send you All of the Work that we perform, along with Billing E-Mails, every day, or so, that we perform Work on your behalf. --- This way, you know what we are doing as we are doing it.

We E-Mail to you all Legal Research and Legal Writing as we perform it. --- As we Write something for you, we send that day's Work to you with each Billing E-Mail.

We are willing to do any reasonable and ethical thing that you or we can think of to increase Trust between us.

WORK PROCESS FOR PARALEGAL SERVICES

There are essentially four different types of Services that we Offer and Provide:

---------- 1. --- Document Review or Customer Interview

----------------- (this is where we Review whatever Papers you are in possession of pertaining to your Matter, to get a sense of what your specific need is; - OR, for some Customers, this initial Task is accomplished, either mostly or completely, by way of our Interviewing you);

--------- 2. --- Research, Mostly in the Law Library

----------------- (this is when the Law pertaining to the Facts presented is Researched and said Research collected; virtually all Research is now collected electronically, usually as either a MS Word file or else a high-resolution optical-scan PDF file so that it can all be forwarded to you via E-Mail.)

--------- 3. --- Legal Writing Based on Facts of Matter and Applicable Laws

---------------- (This is the phase where we prepare the Legal Documents that you need for your Matter; this is usually the most Labor-intensive phase of most Work Assignments);

--------- 4. --- Reporting Message Where there is No Need for a Legal Writing

---------------- (Much Less Commonly than our Writing something for you, we will Report to you what we perceive your Position to be in your specific Matter, and why no Legal Writing is necessary).

Also, we occasionally have Customers who have used us simply for telephone discussions about Legal and Business Strategies. --- Usually, this is for just an hour or two, but some Customers have used over a dozen hours of telephonic Counseling.

Work Process: Respective Roles of Paralegal-Writers and Senior Paralegals

The Work Process is that one of our Paralegals will perform the maximum possible amount of Work for you, including the Intake Interview and//or Document Review and especially Writing your Factual Narrative, at the Rate of $90.00 per hour, or $115 per hour for Premium Cases (Administrative, Appellate, Criminal, Intellectual Property or Legal Malpractice Law).

If you do choose to hire us, you can purchase any amount of my time that you want, although it is customarily denominated in hours, 2-hours ($180), 3-hours ($270.00), 5-hours ($450.00), 10-hours (which gets you a free one, for a total of 11 hours for $900), etc..

Once you Purchase and Use 10.0 full Hours of Paralegal Time, of whatever type, in aggregate, then you receive one (1) Free Hour of Time, or 11-Hours for the Price of 10, which has the effect of lowering the Hourly Rate to $81.82 per Hour for non-Premium Paralegal time (= $900 // 11), and to $104.55 per Hour for Premium Case Paralegal time (= $1150 // 11).

Standard Estimates for Hourly Rate Services

Our Standard Estimate for a Summons and Complaint is 12 to 15 Hours. For complex Fact Patterns or where many different types of Claims are possible, preparation of the Complaint can take much longer.

For example, we spent about twenty (20) hours on Writing the Complaint and Researching and Investigating a Real Estate Matter for a Repeat-Customer.

Our most complex Complaint involved a Civil Rights Matter (where a profoundly-disabled young Woman was being treated as a Child by her non-Custodial Parent and the non-Custodial Parent’s Attorneys), and this Federal Complaint took 35 Hours.

Our Standard Estimate for a Motion is 8 to 12 Hours. --- Again, complex Fact Patterns or multiple Claims for Relief can take longer.

Our Standard Estimate for Notices of Appeal is 12 to 15 Hours.

We recently did a Notice of Appeal for a Customer from Central Jersey, with a very complicated case-history and Narrative-Statement, and that took us fifteen (15) hours.

Demand Letters are usually around 2 to 4 hours, without any Legal Research. --- For Demand Letters with Legal Research, add 1 to 3 hours to that amount of Time, or 3 to 7 Hours, total.

DOCUMENT PREPARATION SERVICES --- (Fixed Price Services)

Our specialties as Paralegals are those matters that we work on most often, and for which we offer Fixed-Prices for specific Services, or sets of Services, which include (but are not limited to):

LLC and Corporate Formations;

Evictions;

Deeds; - and

Divorce and the financial matters pertaining thereto, such as Child Support and Division of Debts.
